To answer your questions:1). I was excited to debate, I was glad I was not first, it was nice to see a few before I started. I think it may have been helpful if perhaps your debate could have started us off, but then again, the class may of not made their own type of debate. I was a bit anxious too because it was worth a large portion of our mark and I did not feel prepared. I felt I had enough resources, but did not display them correctly. 2).Preparing for the debate was sort of answered above, but I did feel that I prepared myself accordingly. I was intimitated by some of the other classmates grammar and use of inductive and deductive fallacies, but felt I prepared well. 3).Posting the debate, I was not nervous, I just wanted to make sure it got downloaded correctly so everyone could open it. 4). Feedback, I found most classmates provided constructive critisim, and were very positive. The rebuttal was fun, it for me was fun because you got to defend your reasoning for your side. 5). The self evaluation. I felt that this was a good indicator/review of what we learned. I feel I should of paid more attention to APA format, but felt since it was a self reflection that I did not need to. I realize now, all masters assignments need that observation. 6). Learning curve. I feel that you cannot get too personal/competitive when debating. Trying not to take comments personally was difficult but I felt I did learn how to debate slightly, would need to do it more to become better at it. 7).Teaching/learning strategy- I felt I learned the process of debating, but felt I would of benefited better with more examples. Like an example debate. The website offered to us with information, was very overwhelming because it had so many different types of debates and scenarios. 8). Other thoughts? I feel the class all did great jobs on the debates. I enjoyed the topics. I did feel the postings, after rebuttal, all on the weekend took up a lot of time, and it was difficult when we had 2 debates to respond to so close to our paper being due. It was a great learning experience.
