I truly enjoyed the debate process. It was a fun way to learn about the various topics.  At first, I was unsure of the process of online debating.  I used the class resources and read up on our expectations.  X’s summary helped give me an outline to work with.  As always, new experiences create a certain level of anxiety and having to post your work to a group heightens the anxiety for me.  I am getting more comfortable with posting to the class as the last several courses I have taken required this, but it is never easy.  I appreciate the respect and open dialogue that the class showed each debate along with all of the hard work that everyone put into this.  It made the learning more interesting.  I was glad to have the topic of clinical practice and teaching because I had been debating this topic in my own career.  The debate helped me to clarify the issue and I now have a strong stance on it and can back it up with research.  I enjoyed being able to use technology and humourous video clips.  It was a nice change from formal papers.  The rebuttal helped me to conclude and organize my thoughts.  The class input was a valuable resource to use for the rebuttal.  I did the self evaluation immediately after the debate and was able to give a satisfactory account of my work.  I appreciate the work that my opponent did and that we were able to pass our drafts back and forth for review, comments and clarification prior to posting to the class.  This helped me to solidify my position and form my arguments.  What a great way to learn.  I hope that this format comes up again in another class for me.
