Goals of this Site: To provide students with learning materials based on cognitive concepts. Cognitive concepts are: - linked with e.g., verbs, pronouns - named - contain links to e.g., external websites, documents, and other concept maps. Understanding of the term 'concept': "A concept is a perceived regularity in events or objects, or records of events or objects, designated by a label" and "Propositions are two or more concepts combined to form a statement about something: a unit of meaning" (Source: J. D. Novak, "Key Ideas Underlying Concept Maps and How They can be Used", http://www.ihmc.us/movies/cmapIntro.qtl, 2002). Caution: Multimedia elements in academic writing are to be used cautiously. Concepts about critical evaluation and thinking explicitly address this issue.
