Not only are these assigments an inquiry tool and one that calls for higher order thinking but students must also work together. I also like that WebQuests make use of scaffolded instruction. This article discussed three types: Reception-This is learning that comes from a given resource such as a glossary or dictionary. Transformation-Students take information being read and they put it into a different form. Production-Students are given templates or writing prompts to help them create their finished product. This acronym is appropriate: FOCUS. We as teachers must do this as we develop proper WebQuests for our students to complete.
